Our client is a global technology leader (with an annual turnover of US$ 20 billion USD) which offers innovative and super efficient services to many of the world’s most regarded corporations. As they expand operations across EMEA, a newly created employment counsel is now required to provide non-contentious employment law advice to support senior HR management and other internal stakeholders on strategic matters and employee relations. This position will be based in the EMEA Office in Amsterdam where you will report to the Head of Employment (EMEA).
As this role has a non-contentious employment focus, you will have a broad range of employment litigation and regulatory matters to manage where quick judgment is required with the support of an external counsel. This role requires you to offer sufficient training to the HR and Recruiting teams where you collaborate in developing and improving internal processes. Aside from your focus on EMEA jurisdictions, there will be a requirement to liaise with their “offshore” teams around the globe. You will work cohesively with the EMEA employment law team on matters relating to TUPE deal support, Trade Unions, and works council/employee representation matters whilst advising on Compensation & Benefits Policy review and HR Policy Review.
The successful candidate must be Dutch Qualified with ideally 4yrs+ PQE gained from a leading international law firm. Must have a really good understanding of Dutch employment law while some exposure to EU employment law would be advantageous. Applications from lawyers with In-house employment law experience, or secondment, from an international business, ideally the IT Sector would be fantastic, but we know it’s a big ask! Must have the natural ability to prioritise employment issues in a fast-moving work environment where quick judgment and excellent interpersonal/communication skills are both paramount to succeed in this super exciting role. Valid working knowledge of TUPE/ARD issues in connection with service agreements would be advantageous.
