Head of Legal – Building Safety – London/Remote

Our client is a leading Property Services and Development business based in the Westend of London however, this opportunity can be permanently remote (UK Wide). This hybrid role will act as Head of Legal (Building Safety) where you’ll take full control and leadership on residential property matters and overseas aspects of construction with a direct report to the General Counsel and regular guidance from the CFO.

You’ll have a broad and varied focus on residential property, construction/property management and will manage a junior construction lawyer who primarily drafts the frameworks and appointments for BSF (British Safety Fund) and GLA (Government Lending Authority) to secure the grant funding agreement from MHCLG (The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s) where you’ll oversee this entire project and regularly update the senior management them with progress.  You will have a team of external lawyers who focus on drafting multiple frameworks for collateral warranties, architects, planning consultants. health & safety officers and structural engineers.


The ideal candidate will currently be a senior level Residential Property Lawyer working for a reputable developer/property management business having some exposure to  JCT, FIDIC & NEC contracts and experience of fire safety/cladding disputes.  Candidates with some exposure to property finance would be advantageous as this role is quite varied where you’ll need to wear multiple hats and be confident when making crucial legal decisions.
