In-House Property Lawyer (Building Safety) London/Hybrid (4-month contract)Our client is a leading Property Services and Development business based in the Westend of London however, this opportunity can be 3 days remote. Your role will focus on Building Safety legal matters where you’ll take full control and leadership on residential property matters with a direct report to the General Counsel.The RoleYou will focus on residential property and construction matters with a considerable workload relating to building safety remediation, disputes and compliance, including contentious and non-contentious issues arising from building safety construction defects. This role requires your full responsibility to manage external solicitors advising on obligations arising under Government funded remediation projects for cladding/façade materials on high-rise buildings. You will assist and advise on residential Lease and Tenant issues arising from the costs of major works and remediation of unsafe buildings and assisting compliance with the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2002 and ancillary secondary legislation.The CandidateMust be a residential property litigation lawyer with knowledge of Landlord & Tenant legislation matters. Must be a UK Qualified solicitor having gained considerable experience in handling substantial caseloads autonomously with minimal supervision. Your level of experience for this role requires you to lead the entire Risk & Compliance function where you'll deliver the company framework for risk management and governance, whilst being constantly aware of possible commercial risks which might impact the business. As they expand operations across EMEA, a newly created employment counsel is now required to provide non-contentious employment law advice to support senior HR management and other internal stakeholders on strategic matters and employee relations. This position will be based in the EMEA Office in Amsterdam where you will report to the Head of Employment (EMEA).The Role As this role has a non-contentious employment focus, you will have a broad range of employment litigation and regulatory matters to manage where quick judgment is required with the support of an external counsel. This role requires you to offer sufficient training to the HR and Recruiting teams where you collaborate in developing and improving internal processes. Aside from your focus on EMEA jurisdictions, there will be a requirement to liaise with their “offshore” teams around the globe. You will work cohesively with the EMEA employment law team on matters relating to TUPE deal support, Trade Unions, and works council/employee representation matters whilst advising on Compensation & Benefits Policy review and HR Policy Review.The CandidateThe successful candidate must be Dutch Qualified with ideally 4yrs+ PQE gained from a leading international law firm. Must have a really good understanding of Dutch employment law while some exposure to EU employment law would be advantageous. This role will expose you to an array of technical and complex commercial legal matters where you’ll be required to advise on IP and digital media.You will lead in drafting and negotiating a variety of digital media legal agreements with publishers, production studios and celebrity talent who all provide amazing content for this iconic digital business. You will advise the business on IP/trademarks/copyrights including production clearances and deliver pragmatic advice in ambiguous situations which might impact the business. You will develop a legal team and structure for Germany where training non-legal professionals and instruct and manage external counsel when required.Must be a German-qualified lawyer with good academics in both German Bar Exams and be bilingual in written and spoken German and English.
