EMEA Privacy Counsel with a growing US Tech – Dublin OR London

With unforeseen business growth developing across The UK and EMEA, they now seek an experienced privacy lawyer to join their dynamic legal team.You will be based in West London or Dublin, with the option to work remotely 3-4 days per week, where you'll have a direct report to the Director, Privacy Counsel (EMEA).  You will work as part of a Global Team on a broad range of privacy and data protection matters across the EMEA jurisdiction focusing on strategic privacy goals and providing operational legal support on processes organization. This is an opportunity to play a key role with guidance on various privacy matters across multiple departments i.e. global marketing, procurement, product teams, sales, human resources and the governance, risk and compliance team, in conjunction with the Global Privacy team. You will assist the commercial legal team by reviewing and negotiating privacy-related agreements, (e.g. DPAs and Data Sharing Agreements, SCCs), in support of global sales transactions and procurement. As this role is quite broad, you’ll have the opportunity to assist with privacy-related due diligence and privacy impact assessments in M&A transactions, whilst supporting privacy training for various groups within the company. As this business is a SaaS/Cloud business you’ll assist IT and Legal teams with the transfer of data and advise on the possible risks which may impact the business whilst ensuring the business is adhering to GDPR guidelines in relation to international data transfer developments.The ideal candidate will have experience in advising Software and IT Developers who lack the understanding and implications of GDPR and Privacy law matters which impact the design of their innovative products. Must have at least 2.5yrs PQE and be ideally UK or Irish Qualified (dual UK/EU preferred) with legal training from a top-tier Privacy Team of an internationally acclaimed Law Firm. Candidates with current in-house or recent secondment privacy/GDPR experience gained from a multinational tech corporation will be preferred. With unforeseen business growth developing across The UK and EMEA, they now seek an experienced Employment Lawyer to work as part of the Global Employment team.You will be based in West London or Dublin with a direct report to the Head of Employment (EMEA) and will work on a broad range of individual and collective employment law-related issues. As part of this role, you will work on exciting projects across business lines and across the EMEA region, dealing with a wide variety of employment law matters from hiring, disciplinary actions, dismissals, complex employee relations issues, restructurings, works councils, compensation and benefits, leaves, DIBs (diversity, inclusion and belonging), and employee privacy matters. You will advise the Global Talent Team to create and revise global and locally compliant policies and procedures in keeping with consistency with company ethics & values. As this role has a non-contentious employment focus, you will have a broad range of employment litigation and regulatory matters to manage where quick judgment is required with the support of an external counsel. This role requires you to monitor and maintain knowledge of changes in EMEA-related employment laws and regulations and industry practices that impact the business and provide practical advice and support to the business. There will be some exposure to advisory support for the Privacy team on employee-related privacy/GDPR matters.The CandidateThe successful candidate must be UK or EU Qualified with ideally 3.5yrs+ PQE gained from a leading international law firm (Tier 1 employment team) in London or a leading Irish/EU firm. Must have a really good understanding of UK and EU employment law while some exposure to privacy matters relating to employment law would be advantageous.  Applications from lawyers with In-house employment law experience, or secondment, from international business with a focus on Cloud or SaaS employment law-related issues would be fantastic, but we know it’s a big ask!  Must have the natural ability to prioritise employment issues in a fast-moving work environment where quick judgment and excellent interpersonal/communication skills are both paramount to succeed in this super exciting role. Legal Counsel – Fintech – Galway, Ireland (12 month contract)

This Fintech leader serves over 600,000 merchants and manages around 800 million transactions, worth in excess of $55 billion.You will report to the General Counsel and work along with an existing team of 10 lawyers all focusing on a broad range of projects in multi-jurisdictions. This position will play a fundamental role in supporting this business with its unprecedented growth. You will work from the Irish office (Galway City) where expertise in commercial law, contract drafting, and contractual negotiations is required. You will advise on ad-hoc special projects, including new product developments and keep on the constant lookout for possible legal and regulatory issues which might impact the business. This role will expose you to lots of non-Legal related work and you will be required to provide pragmatic advice to stakeholders with regards to applicable laws or regulations that may impact the business.Candidates will be 4yrs+ PQE and ideally be an Irish or English qualified solicitor (other EU jurisdictions considered) with a focus on commercial contracts, working either in-house or in a leading law firm. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of contract and commercial law, with a strong preference for lawyers with previous professional experience of the fintech and financial services sector. Legal Counsel, US Cloud Multinational (public sector sales) – Zurich 5yrs+

They have created their first Swiss-based legal role where they require a highly experienced commercial lawyer with a key focus on supporting public sector sales and procurement compliance in Switzerland and across EMEA.This company will expose you to the forefront of the cloud computing industry and specifically in providing IT infrastructure services where you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide range of technology contracts and subcontracts with public and private sector customers. This amazing quality of work will including licensing, teaming, reseller and framework agreements/responses to requests for proposals and tenders. For the right candidate, this role will quickly develop into a team management position where you will work alongside the (non-legal) Sales, Public Policy, and Security Assurance teams, providing day-to-day advice for senior executives and other business members on government contracting issues, resolving queries that arise in existing relationships.The successful candidate must either be admitted to practice law in Switzerland (Swiss Qualified) or be a Non-Swiss qualified lawyer with 5yrs+ experience gained in the region. You must have solid legal training from an international law firm with a full understanding of Swiss and EU public procurement directives, rules, and procedures. Ideally, you will have strong working relationships with government contracting officials and understand the procurement and compliance processes from both a legal and commercial viewpoint. Familiarity with cloud computing, IT infrastructure, and telecommunications would be advantageous however we will consider Commercial Lawyers from different industries.
